Fernforest Public School works out with Ticker!
"Fernforest held it's third annual work out with ticker fitness
unit for
all students in K-3. Over 700 participants enjoyed their special
workout
with Ticker while combining fitness and lots of fun! The students
eagerly
exercised along with Ticker in the video as they were put through
their
paces. We would like to thank you once again for this excellent
resource...it is a compliment to any quality Physical Education
program!"

Ticker's Exercise Mats
Ticker has now got his own exercise Mat to help
motivate children to exercise daily and learn the proper form
of strengthening and stretching exercises. This attractive mat
has a red cloth cover that is removable and washable, 1"
foam insert and white type and graphics. One side displays the
Ticker logo and the other has a message from Ticker along with
exercise graphics and descriptions. Daycares and Schools in the
Region of Peel can look forward to receiving this resource, free
of charge during the 2005-2006 school year.

3rd Annual Early Years Fair
Coach Brenda from Stretch-n-Grow led the crowd through
an exercise routine with Ticker and friends. Once again the Early
Years Fair was a huge success and Ticker was a crowd-pleaser!

Pam Frick (wearing red jacket) is the Chair of the Peel Heart
Health Network. During her vacation in May, she had a chance to
meet "Artie Beat", the Mascot of the British Heart Foundation.

Ticker helps The Salvation Army
..
Ticker helped The Salvation Army Day Care centre on Cawthra Road
in Mississauga, raise close to $600 in pledges for the Salvation
Army Red Shield Appeal. The centre held a Fitness Day with many
physical fitness activities such as obstacle courses and relay races
PLUS a special Stretch-n-Grow class with Ticker, Coach Cheryl and
Coach Jannie. Congratulations to all our Stretch-n-Grow STARs !!!

Ticker plays hockey in Mississauga
..
The Peel Heart Health Network in collaboration with the Mississauga
IceDogs set up an educational booth on Heart Health on March 14th,
2004 at the Hershey Centre.
Sandra Murray, Director of Corporate Events Mississauga IceDogs
and the Peel Heart Health Network Coordinator, Amandeep Kaur, organized
the event. Besides Ticker, the official Mascot of Peel Heart Heath
Network, many dedicated volunteers helped make this event a success.
Amandeep said that "It was a great event and people enjoyed
Ticker when he played hockey and saved all the goals". Over
3000 people attended the Heart Health display and received information
on Heart Health.

Early Years Family Fair
The Early Years Family Fair is an annual event which is sponsored
by the Success by Six coalition, and supported by the Peel Health
Department, Ontario Early Years Centres, and Children's Services.
Over 5,000 people visited the Mississauga Convention Centre on February
7, 2004 for activities, stage shows, and information displays. Polkaroo
and Gisele, as well as Mothergoose and Stretch-n-Grow with Workout
with Ticker were all very popular with the children. Over 55 agencies
attended, providing information on their services for children 0-6
years of age. The Ontario Early Years Centres had a playroom set
up with Sensory, Face Painting, Craft Activities and Soft Blocks
for parents to enjoy with their children. The Mississauga and Brampton
Public Libraries supported the event by hosting the Children's Storytimes.
The next one is being held on Saturday February 12, 2005 at the
Mississauga Convention Centre.

Ticker Hits Primetime!
Hal Johnson and Joanne Mcleod, well known fitness professionals
and stars of Bodybreak, featured Ticker and a group of Peel Region's
heart healthy children in a 90- second commercial segment. The children
featured are from Coach Myra's Stretch-n-Grow classes. The segment
focuses on the importance of regular activity and exercise for children
of all ages. Ticker and the group were filmed at St. Edith Stein
School in Mississauga, Ontario. Ticker can now be seen on Networks
